I guess I just suck, or it is just more of me having absolutely zero luck, but this game had it out for me on 9 separate runs. I use the word "run" loosely because I never even made it to the third generation. Every single time a couple got married, one of them died the next turn. They absolutely REFUSED to get pregnant, and I just watched as my useless family whittled away into nothing. It's really fun watching my lone 8-year-old, the head, as he is surrounded by dead bodies. Honestly the death system was a little over the top, and how about Bastards? Did I control the one celibate house in history? Hell If I were the head and this is what was happening to my house, I would decree orgies to take place every day until somebody gets pregnant or they die, whichever comes first!
It might help to marry them younger and to make sure who they marry is also not too old. Age is both responsible for random death / sickness and low fertility, so I'd say that's your number one thing to look out for.
really fun and addictive game. tho, there is 1 issue. i am on mobile and while i do have a mouse and keyboard, the screen doesnt rotate. so it becomes hard to play since i cant see all i need too. please provide android\mobile devices a way for a functioning full screen.
Ohh boy, this run was complicated. By the end of it all, my brain was spinning. I do hope that there is a setting in the future that turns off the stories without the need to right-click. As much as I love narrative, one can only handle so many ai-generated summaries before their empathy degrades.
Great game! However, the continuous story pop ups can be a bit exhausting, especially after the plots remix every time. Some of these things, like the engagements, could be slimmed down a bit.
You end up loving the characters, the third generation had a first born that married young and then died, leaving their spouce unable to marry since she wasnt part of the royal family, with no kids and very young she was the workhouse of all the diplomatic events, she had like 90% wits and pushed forward every diplomatic event i sent her to, I'll miss her when she inevitably dies of old age u.u
Uh... just playing a little, and one of my princes gave birth to a son all by himself, and got married alone. A little confused at what happened there.
That does sound confusing indeed. Odds are the son is a bastard (no offense). Not sure what happened with the marriage, though. Possibly you've stumbled upon a well-hidden bug / unintended feature, or there's a perfectly reasonable explanation. Either way, don't panic.
I appreciate the tip, but 90% of the time every alive other person is also robbed/sick or doesn't meet the minimum age to help.
I was really excited for functional genetics and to continue having the be a game focused on like building a family tree, but this version of the game just isn't fun.
Maybe if I had joined the discord and been able to start with 1 or 2 new gameplay elements I would be able to get the hang of it, but as it is playing this game feels like pulling teeth.
Sorry to hear it's too difficult. It's not too late to join the Discord and get some tips from other players.
We're also working on a newer version as well, which is rebalanced quite a bit - it is available to our patrons on Patreon. If that's interesting for you, we're having a discount action right now, and you can get permanent access for less than 1 USD.
For a future patch for the new version, we will look into something like a gravestone behind the image so they don't get forgotten. The Steam Key for the newest version is now available through our Patreon if you are interested.
The concept is very good! The music also fits great.
I just seem to get some console errors logs or something.
I would also want to suggest a way to disable moving animations for everything that is not clicked or not on focus as it feels a bit overwhelming. And ideally more visual representations and lesser texts. :)
Very fun! Awesome polish. It's crusader kings without the map aka super fun! I found I had family members that became quite old with no marriage prospects. Also, I noticed that when I maxed out my relationship with one of the families, it instantly went back down to 0. Very addicting!
Having a scoreboard for the 200 year playthrough would be great so you can see how various families stacked up against each other. Also, keeping track of various notable characters would be fun as well as characters that participated in the most successful events aka midwife, usurpations, most children, etc.
The only bug I've noticed is after an autosave, speed is set to slow even if I paused it during the autosave (or right before).
The game is not finished yet and we will keep exploring options. We certainly don't aim to be a Crusader Kings clone! For future additions to the game we will explore different houses with different difficulties and most probably a house that feels like a creative mode where it more closely resembles the first version with a very relaxing core experience to play around with. Might that be interesting for you?

man this game is so fun but I don't have discord, I wish I could play the latest version
We have a early access Steam version now which you can become tester of via our new Patreon site: https://patreon.com/noblegame

You can get it by becoming a count/countess at patreon
How did you get this version?
By joining the discord server and becoming an alpha tester

In the latest version you can play it in mobile devices, but it's only for those who are alpha testers

Note that you can close the development console.
Can you maybe explain what the issue is with right-clicking instead of left-clicking?

I appreciate adding functionalities but I'm playing on easy and all my characters keep getting sick or robbed before I can get them married.
I wish events had an immediate effect instead of stopping you from making engagements.
It's all about timing. It might help to pause the game as much as possible and taking it slow, so you can assign them when one of the events finishes.
If you send someone to help with the sickness/robbery, the event is over quicker.
I appreciate the tip, but 90% of the time every alive other person is also robbed/sick or doesn't meet the minimum age to help.

I kinda wish dead spouses stay on the family tree if the widow remarries after.
Currently they just get replaced by the new spouse, and that's kinda saddening... They are truly left behind and forgotten.
For a future patch for the new version, we will look into something like a gravestone behind the image so they don't get forgotten. The Steam Key for the newest version is now available through our Patreon if you are interested.
And not sure if it has it but needs inbreeding to be realistic hehehe

Thank you for your feedback. The project is still being worked on and we have an early access version available through Patreon.
If you have more information on the console error logs we can look into that! Thanks for playing
Unity development console keeps raising undescript errors
Interesting idea
Why isn't there an option for "I do not care about the AI story, please just explain why everyone dies shortly after getting married"
Right-click messages instead of left. You're welcome.
Why'd this get downvoted?
Poor kid got born 1 year RIGHT BEFORE they married T_T
he woulda been the heir otherwise, now he's just a bastard
That's the point of the game there's challenges everywhere
Just had a person die while slotted in for a funeral.
...the funeral is now attended by two dead people with their own funerals
I guess it's a three person party of a funeral, or something
It's a mystery. Maybe they all fell in the grave...
I had 6 people die in a row. The succession battle was held and the instant it was resolved, the successor was dead. Apparently plague?
Coronations are very deadly. Enter at your own peril/perish.
very fun, i was grappled for hours playing this, keep updating it, please. Amazing game. good luck
Thanks! There is a newer version available. You can find more info on the Discord server

Relationship is actually going to the next tier (and you unlock a new event with them). We'll make it clearer in the future. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks, it's good to know that that's something you would like. We'll weigh it against all the other things we'll want to add in the future.
Also, thanks for reporting the bug.
I really hate that you're turning this game into a crusader kings clone, tbh.
the draw for me was being able to do family tree stuff without annoying pop ups and stuff everyo ofhe rmedieval game with a lineage mechanism does.

Yeah I would definitely be interested in playing a new version game that is more like the original version!
