I love this game. It’s great how you can see how the genotypes all work out. Some suggestions could be events, such as war or technological advancements. It is a great game, good work.

Thank you! Events would be awesome. We got some ideas for those for a possible future update. The events would have effects on people who have specific genes or who lack specific genes. That way finding the right couples can give more weight to the game.
Thanks for the feedback!

I've become obsessed with this game! My high score is 4881! I love the simple interface and the great concept. I've had just one issue, sometimes when I hit the pause button, it shows the button as being clicked, but the game continues to run. Doesn't take much away from the game however, as I can just re-click the pause button and it will actually pause. Overall, I love this game! It's so much fun to play!

wow

Thanks for your feedback! Glad to hear you enjoy it so much! Crazy score!

There's a new version coming later today. We're adding a new scoring mechanism and a time-trial mode, and new hairstyles!
Unfortunately, I couldn't reproduce the problem with the pause button yet. Alternatively you can press the space bar. It might be a performance thing that when the game gets slower it doesn't recognize the button as well as it should.

Oh yeah, and music.

And there it is.

Really simple design, but effective and satisfying! Some sound effects would definitely add to the gameplay. :)

Thanks!

We are working on patching it with at least a soundtrack for now.

Anyone got higher than me?

Great 2130 years

That's impressive! Would love to hear if any players have come close or beat that score!

Can you make this more mobile compatible?

I had a glitch where the draggable display disappeared when i clicked on it and clicked somewhere else

Making it mobile could be something we could consider in the future for sure.
We will look into the drag-able display disappearing.

The other houses ran out of eligible spouses around generation 4 so that was the end of the game for me. I imagine it was just bad luck, but perhaps a more forgiving RNG could be used? You could also allow for distant cousins within the family to marry and for widows and widowers of appropriate age to remarry. Chelsea posted already about the interface issues so I will merely second that comment. On the whole I think you have a good start and I'm looking forward to future updates.

Another interface idea might be to replace the gender icon with a skull when characters die just to make it easier to see who is still alive when zoomed out.

Yeah that's probably bad luck.

About the mouse issue - are you using Chrome or a different browser?

So it's been 2 years and I feel the same problems are still in game. Unfortunate.

We aren't actively working on the game right now. So the core is still as it was after the game jam. We might revisit it to turn it into a more full experience in the future after we finish current projects.

We do thank you for your continued interest and return though! If enough players are interested in buying a full version of the game then we can spend more time on it!

I love the concept; the one thing that bugged me was that I had a hard time dragging the icons from the bottom of the screen. I had to move the graphic with the different houses in it every time I wanted to place a character somewhere to make it really close or the mouse wouldn't do what I wanted. Otherwise, this was enjoyable!

Thanks for letting us know! That sounds pretty odd. I'll see if I can reproduce that problem here.

To explain it a little clearer, I guess I would say I would click on a character icon, drag it to another, and it would only stay if it was already very close. If it was too far away, it would bounce back to its' original place within the family it spawned from. Hope that makes a little more sense.

Really beautiful.

I think it could make a nice slow paced game to play over a few weeks - checking back in on my family tree every evening.

That's a nice and interesting twist! Thanks for the suggestion and playing!

love this!

Thanks!!

Love the looks of this game. It felt more like a toy to me than a game, though. But maybe I was missing something. I clicked on the fastest button and things went crazy quickly. I love the art here.

It still has a lot of sandbox feel to it. We got some minor tweaks coming up to amplify the gameplay feel some more. Thanks for playing the current version!
